Considering the Effects of the Mega-loads If approved, massive loads carrying equipment to the Kearl oil sands project in Canada will pass through Milltown and Bonner. What are the economic and environmental effects of transporting loads that are heavier than the Statue of Liberty, as tall and wide as a three-story building, and three-quarters of a football field long? A panel including Missoula attorney Bob Gentry, UM economist Steve Seninger, and Lolo business owner SuzAnne Miller will consider the effects of the mega-loads on Thursday, January 13 at 7 p.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 9015 Hwy. 200 East, Bonner. Replies from MT DOT, ConocoPhillips, and ExxonMobil are pending. The program is free and open to all. The Sustainable Living series is hosted by Friends of 2 Rivers.
