The Superfund cleanup completed, restoration well underway and redevelopment in the form of the new Milltown State Park nearly accomplished, Friends of 2 Rivers feels a sense of pride that a clean and healthful environment has been restored to the two rivers communities. Yet other challenges and opportunities surface. Our planet is threatened by excessive amounts of CO2 produced by human activity.
How and why would one small citizen's group tackle a global issue? Because making a difference at home can produce favorable changes; we have seen this happen with the Superfund cleanup. "They" do not determine what happens here; local citizens can and must step up.
How can we help? By learning all we can about the conditions affecting our earth. By concentrating our efforts on supporting local production of food and goods. By living mindfully and well. We invite you to take up the challenge with us.
