Tempering the Celebration: Job Creation a Must for Bonner
Current economic conditions are dampening seasonal spirits. Scott Cooney briefly spoke about the need for job creation in Bonner and the vision of having a walkable, safe community where workers in local manufacturing plants and businesses could live and raise their families. He noted that the current economic situation requires constant effort to create jobs and gave examples of the types of jobs that could find a home in the Bonner area.
Brief Update on West Log Yard Responses
Scott also reviewed the many suggestions about the West Log Yard that he's been receiving. He noted how helpful they have been already. He had assumed folks want the berm removed immediately, yet comments didn't favor that so he plans to take it slow and develop a design that the neighbors are comfortable with.
It's not too late to register your opinion, or update it. Comment forms are available locally at the normal spots including Two Rivers Market and Bev and Company. Or you can download one. Visit http://www.scottcooney.com and click on "Projects."
Celebration Continues with Good Food, Prizes, and Conversation
Conversation and feasting resumed. Generous door prize donations from the River City Grill, Jackson Hewitt for tax preparation, 10,000 Waves, and Scott Cooney provided early Christmas presents for Charles Clark, Lavonne Otto, Mike Kustudia, Rusty Reed, Chelsea Gendrow, Sandy Tobol, Judy Gendrow, and Miranda.
A carload of donations for the Food Bank was delivered to the Fire Station.
Many thanks to all the contributors to the Christmas party. A special tip of Santa's cap to Mike Kustudia who served up a delicious batch of his Grandma Cadieux's pea soup. "Soupe aux pois" never tasted so good!
